Crafty CHICA Night

Hum, how do we describe Crafty Chica nights? The best way to explain them would be to say they are fun, fun, fun!  Yes, artists who make art for a living need a space to just create for fun! That is exactly what Crafty Chica night is a space to laugh and be creatively free without self-critique. Come and do the guided art project or work on a project of your own. And, if you are a new member, at least once a quarter we devote a Crafty Chica Night to Make Your Own Merch!

Memory Collectors Quilting Project: Fighting Alzheimer's with Art

This storytelling project focuses on the often-untold stories of Madison area women with a targeted outreach effort towards African American, Indigenous women and other women of color living in Wisconsin. Women ages 45 and up are invited to participate in The Memory Collectors Story Project. Participants in the program will come together monthly at the Creator’s Cottage to share memories surrounding family, community, faith, culture, and resistance. The participants in the Memory Collectors Project will have the option to either produce their stories in written form or to create their stories by means of fabric through story cloths and quilts. You do not have to be a quilter or a writer to do this! All participants will receive instruction, encouragement, positive feedback, and the necessary supplies to complete the project.  Each woman in the Memory Collectors Story Project who needs one will be issued a donated laptop to use for the duration of the program, fabric and art supplies to create their story quilts, and a blood pressure cuff to monitor and chart her stress levels.  Click here if you would like to sign up:
